About Nuifish

Ownership, access and the law that governs it

Nuifish Limited is registered in Scotland for business and domestic software development (SIC 62012), at 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh EH2 4AN.

Our registered office is a serviced business address shared by many companies. We mention it because a visitor who sees the same street address on another company’s website should not infer any connection: there is none, and we have no relationship with any other company registered there. It is a registered office rather than a place to visit; please write or call first.

Ownership. Intellectual property rights in software written specifically for a client are assigned to that client on payment in full. Pre-existing components, tools and libraries we bring to a job remain ours and are licensed to the client for use in the delivered work. Open-source components carry their own licences, which we identify so that the client knows what obligations come attached. Nothing is held back as leverage.

Access. Domains, source repositories, cloud accounts and third-party service subscriptions are registered in the client’s name wherever the provider allows it, with us added as a user rather than as the owner. It is a small administrative difference at the start and an enormous one if the relationship ends badly. Credentials are handed over as part of delivery, not as a condition of it.

What we do not claim. This website claims no certification, no ISO standard, no Cyber Essentials certification, no vendor partnership or reseller status, no accreditation, no professional indemnity or other insurance, no team size, no client list, no case studies and no awards. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and give no financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Nuifish Limited is registered in Scotland and our terms are governed by the law of Scotland and the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
